Proposed Deanery and Benefice changes (2)

CONSULTATION WITH PAROCHIAL CHURCH COUNCILS

We would like our parochial church councils to consider some questions but responses are not limited to these.

  1. Do you believe that the proposed plan for three stipendiary clergy in the deanery is financially sustainable in the long term?
  2. If you consider this number of clergy impractical from a ministerial point of view, how could we as a deanery raise the finances for a greater number?
  3. Do you agree that there is a need for change in how our clergy workloads are distributed across the deanery?
  4. The proposed plan would require some changes in the role of parish clergy, and an increased involvement for lay people in the worship and ministry of our churches - would
    you accept these changes?
  5. Do you have a view about where the three stipendiary clergy should live, if we opt for this plan?
  6. Are there other factors which the deanery should consider in a plan for our future?
  7. Would you like to make an alternative proposal for the life . and ministry of our churches in the future?
